Abstract

ABSTRACT
Septiana Tri Amuji, 2021. “motivational stretegies used by English teacher in
teaching at MAInsan Kamil. Thesis. English education department, faculty of
teacher training and education”. Supervised by: (1) Hasanudin , (2) Yuliana.
This research aims to find out what motivational strategies are used by an
English teacher to motivate the students in MA Insan Kamil Sorong. This research
was conducted at MA Insan Kamil. The research design used in this research is
descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The subject of this research is an
English teacher and nine students in MA Insan Kamil Sorong. In contrast, the
object of this research is the motivational strategies used by English teachers in
teaching. The data of this research is collected by interview. The result of the
research showed that the teacher gives less motivation in the learning process. The
teacher is given some motivation like rewards, competition, giving tasks, and
praise. Usually, the teacher knows if the other motivation strategies are suitable
for the motivated student in the classroom. Although the teacher knows it, the
teacher does not apply it in the classroom.
